September 19th the Nimbus Theater Ensemble premieres a compelling new theatrical work, inspired by Jose Saramago's Nobel-Prize winning novel BLINDNESS. Prompted by the reawakening of global consciousness caused by the events of 9/11, the Nimbus Theater Ensemble presents a tale of an epidemic of blindness that inexplicably spreads from eye to eye. The loss of this one sense leads to the total loss of sense as the first victims are interned by the government in a defunct asylum. Weaving together dynamic text and movement with a stunning original music score, MEAN SOLAR DAY follows the lives of six of these victims and takes an unswerving look at a society grappling to find a vision for the futur
