The Film Society of Lincoln Center will celebrate the work of
Italian actor Toni Servillo with "Fire and Ice: Toni Servillo On
Screen and In Person," a four-film retrospective running from July
27 through July 29.
Servillo will appear in person on July 27 after the screening of "Il Divo" to discuss the film and his career. "Servillo brings to the screen an unusual, inner intensity not often seen in a medium that depends heavily on appearances. Even in the most frenetic situations he exudes a sense of calm, a quality beautifully exploited by Paolo Sorrentino in 'Il Divo,' where Servillo's character, Andreotti, lets everyone act out for him," Richard Pena, the Film Society program director, said.
