The Tony Randall Theatrical Fund has announced the 2011 recipients of the Tony Randall Grant.

Traditionally presenting a single $100,000 award to a nonprofit theater company for the production of a classic play, the fund temporarily changed its guidelines in 2009 to face the challenges of the economic climate. By presenting general operating grants, the fund is able to help small theater companies facing financial constraints.

This year, 10 companies were chosen to receive grants ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. The recipients are Elevator Repair Service, the Civilians, SITI Company, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Soho Rep, Epic Theatre Ensemble, Lark Play Development Center, Classic Stage Company, Repertorio Español, and Signature Theatre Company.

The Acting Company, the Actors Fund, Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York Theatre Workshop, and Target Margin Theater also receive support from the Tony Randall Theatrical Fund on an ongoing basis.
