Black male 30s-50s. Duke of Harlem. A cross between Adam Clayton Powell and Bumpy Johnson. He has ascended to power in his community by gaining respect on the nefarious streets as well as established himself in the mainstream world of business and politics.

Black or Latina female 30s-50s; an African/Caribbean woman whose presence is defined by her poise, beauty, and dignity. She wields Theseus’s heart by the strength of her grace and conviction. At one time she was at odds with Theseus and his people because of what she believed they sacrificed in order to participate in American culture. She has been wooed by strength of Theseus’s great character.

Black or Latino Male 40’s -60s. First generation working class African/Caribbean man who wants his daughter to marry up in status.
