Production Description

Casting "Anzac," a semi-staged reading of an epic on war and peace in the 20th century.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearses Saturdays (3-6 p.m.) at the YMCA in North Hollywood, CA, usually the third Sat. of the month; public reading October 2014 at T. U. Studios, L.A.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Small stipend provided on the night of the production. Note: A workshop run by the coordinators, the Vision Acting Workshop, rehearses the other Saturdays, and actors may choose, though are not required, to join it. There is a minimal charge for this workshop.

Synopsis of "Anzac"

The next scenes go from the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 to the beginning of World War II in 1939. The scenes will continue through the Second World War and onward in two more readings in 2015. There are allegorical characters and real characters in the Treaty of Versailles. There are family scenes in Australia and a dada scene in Europe in the 1930s. There are five readings altogether. Two have already been read in October 2013 and April 2014.
