Role Description

"Madeline": (Lead) roles include--Madeline: female, 20s but can look younger (pre-teen), a student at Miss Clavel’s boarding school in Paris, loving, sweet, intelligent, curious, speaks her mind, annoyed by the antics of her next door neighbor Pepito, mix/legit; Miss Clavel: female, 30s, a nun who is Madeline’s teacher at her boarding school in Paris, acts as the narrator, warm, intelligent, a good teacher and leader, a progressive thinker, wants to see Madeline be friends with Pepito, mix/legit; Pepito: female, 20s but can play younger (pre-teen), a little boy (played by a girl) who is the next door neighbor of Madeline, son of the Ambassador, mischievious, lively, energetic, loves to play tricks on Madeline, hides the fact he is lonely, some dance experience a plus, mix voice; The Ambassador/Phillipe the Cook: male, 20s-30s, one actor doubles as both parts, the Ambassador is Pepito’s father, a busy man, a bit stuffy and proper, never home, unaware his son is lonely, comes to realize he must change, while Phillipe is the cook to the Ambassador, acts as a friend to Pepito, lively, bit silly, fun, very likeable, some dance experience a plus, lyric baritone.
