"The Matchmaker"

[CORNELIUS HACKL] Late 20s – Mid 30s. Charming and easygoing, an experienced salesman who is professionally confident but also knows when to be deferential. Energetic, with a barely explored thirst for life. Earnest, well-meaning, the heart of an adventurer in the body of a common man.

[COOK] 20s – 40s. Working class, comic type. An everywoman.

The roles of CAB MAN, MALACHI STACK, FLORA VAN HUYSEN, DOLLY LEVI, GERTRUDE, HORACE VANDERGELDER, BARNABY, ERMENGARDE, AUGUST, JOE SCANLON, MINNIE FAY, AMBROSE, RUDOLPH, and IRENE MOLLOY Have Been Cast.

"Good People"

[MARGIE WALSH] Late 40s – Mid 50s. Lean, strong, tough. Native of Boston’s South End (“Southie”). Someone who has had to fight for everything she gets, but who understands both the bitterness and the beauty of life. Fierce, independent, street smart, someone who knows how to read people.

[JEAN] Late 40s – Mid 50s. Tough and strong, funny, a bit mouthy but with a good heart. Native of Boston’s South End (“Southie”). Doesn’t take nonsense from anyone, and she gives as good as she gets.

The roles of DOTTIE, KATE, MIKE, and STEVIE Have Been Cast.

"Both Your Houses"

[ALAN McCLEAN] Late 20s – Late 30s. Fresh faced and somewhat innocent despite his years. Someone who wants to do what is right and looks for the best in everyone and everything. Charming, funny, principled. A “boy-next-door” type of leading man.

[EDDIE WISTER] Early 30s – Early 40s. Trim, well-dressed, upper class. Country club elite. Would be purely debonair but for the aura of political wheeling and dealing that hangs about him.

[MARJORIE GRAY] Early 20s – Early 30s. Upstanding, optimistic, and sweet, yet with a quiet inner strength and no small amount of savvy. Charming, deft, and diplomatic.

[MARK] Early 20s – Late 20s. Youthful, bright-eyed, eager. A mailroom clerk with an arch sense of humor.

The roles of SIMEON GRAY, SOLOMON FITZMAURICE, MISS McMURTRY, LEVERING, FARNUM, BUS, EBNER, MERTON, DELL, SNEDEN, PEEBLES, and WINGBLATT Have Been Cast

"Our Betters"

[FLEMING HARVEY] Early 20s – Late 20s. Sweet and honorable, perhaps a bit naïve, but good-hearted and kind. Has boy-next-door good looks and a firm set of principles.

[ANTHONY PAXTON] Early 20s – Late 20s. Strikingly handsome, well-dressed, engaging manners, charming smile. A picture perfect matinee idol.

[THORNTON CLAY] Early 30s – Early 40s. Has enough money to enter high society, but doesn’t quite have the demeanor to match. Slight sense that he would do anything to try to belong, vaguely grasping quality. Yet also a bon vivant and social butterfly.

[DUCHESSE DE SURENNES] Early 40s – Early 50s. Opulent, bold, sensual. Outwardly self-assured, though internally insecure. Something regal about her, but it’s gone to seed a bit. She overdoes everything just a shade too much, takes everything just a step too far. Rubinesque of form.

[PEARL GRAYSTON] Late 20s – Mid 30s. Fashion-forward and daring, she is at the cutting edge of absolutely everything. She lives to have fun, outrageous, and audacious. Beautiful, wealthy American heiress, yet there is something hard about her. Strong, and knows how to get what she wants, yet keenly aware of how others see her and that it’s not always complimentary.

[PRINCESS DELLA CERCOLA] Early 30s – Early 40s. Tall, beautiful, statuesque, a presence with gravitas. Elegant features, gentle, and kind, but with a bit of a tragic air. Carries her wealth with distinction and grace.
