Elisa's Sides

SCENE 1 - SMILE AT DAN
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
A drowsy Dan awakens to a nurse, ELISA (25, nit-picky yet pretty). She conducts various tests and tends to him. Dan notices an IV inserted into his arm.
Once finished, Elisa straightens up the room a bit and leaves...backwards!
Dan, wide-eyed.
INT. HOSPITAL STAIRWELL - DAY
Dan peeks through the door window. We see the nurses run past. A sigh of relief. Then, we see Elisa! Dan rushes to open the door but it’s locked. He bangs on the door but to no avail: she has already passed.
He sighs, walks down the stairwell, and carries the IV with difficulty.

SCENE 2 - DEMONSTRATE BACKWARDS WALK
INT. HOSPITAL HALLWAY - DAY
Despondent, Dan walks through the hospital. He’s lost.
Dan bumps into someone. He turns around, but so do they. Both twist around, not seeing the other until at last Dan spins the other way: It’s Elisa. She realizes that he walks backwards too.
Dan and Elisa, eyes beaming. It’s love at first sight.
Elisa turns and takes his hand. She walks him down the corridor, back to his hospital room. He’s elated. Their heads bop and their bodies bounce the way only backwards people do.
