Production Description

Casting actresses for Bright Star Theatre's Black History touring productions, including "Harriet Tubman" and "Heroes of the Underground Railroad." Producer states: "We have served more than 1,000 audiences across the country and the world with professional touring theater productions. We are seeking black actresses for a number of roles in various tours that launch from Asheville, NC. Some tours will perform at the National Theatre and other high profile venues. Most performances take place in school settings. Actors will travel with two or three 45-minute, two-person tours that will cover the East Coast. This contract is ideal for strong character actresses."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearsals last for one week beginning Jan. 2014 in Asheville, NC; after the week, actors load into a mini-van and travel the country performing 6-18 shows a week. Contracts vary according to show; most last 7-16 weeks.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Pays: $400/week, plus all vehicle expenses and free housing for the duration of the contract(s). The rehearsal week is unpaid, but meals and housing are provided.
