Higher Education made its Bridge 2 Broadway debut in the summer of
2012 (under its working title “Guardians“), and the workshop
culminated with a staged reading of the work-in-progress. This year,
Bridge 2 Broadway is proud to announce that "Higher Education" will be
featured as a full production at the Margaret A. Webb Theatre. "Higher
Education" marks the first production from Bridge 2 Broadway to
return for a fully realized production. Rather than the staged readings
of last year, the 2013 production will feature sets, costumes, lighting, and choreography, along with the return of last year’s live orchestra.
NEW WORKS FESTIVAL
To continue with the tradition of past Bridge 2 Broadway programs,
there will be a New Works Festival that participants can be involved in
as well as the full stage production. Students will have the opportunity
to work on four to six new musicals in different stages of
development, giving the writers the chance to see their work brought
to life and letting the students work with brand new material. A few of
these musicals will then be presented to audiences in a staged reading
format at the end of the program.
