Father: (Supporting) Chinese, traditional, mean, male. 50s or 60s. Ru’s father. He is stubborn, never listening if someone goes against what he believes, especially if it has to do with his family. He is very intimidating and scary to anyone he comes in contact with. Shoot dates: April 28 & May 10-12.
Production Description
A feature length comedy-drama about an awkward, kind-hearted boy named Ru, who is amidst a horrible amount of family pressure. As his 21st birthday approaches, Ru’s family of assassins are demanding that he assassinates a target, or else they will kill him instead.
Producers state: "'Ru' has Asian Americans as the leading dramatic actors of the film. The actors must speak clean English, with no accents, and they are not using martial arts, making fun of themselves, or doing any other stereotypical things. The script is WGA registered."
