Description:
We are casting a photo shoot for "Catching the Invisible," an illustrated children’s book which celebrates wind energy. The story begins with a description of a girl who lives in a house connected to a wind turbine in a large wind farm. One day the girl becomes curious about plastic bags and wanders away from the wind farm on an adventure to learn about the source of these colorful bags. The adventure leads her to an oil field where a boy of similar age is trying to revive an old Ferris Wheel with oil. The girl teaches the boy about wind energy and they work together to power the Ferris Wheel by inventing a new way to catch the wind. The story is being developed by a group of young artists with the support of a grant from the New York State Council of the Arts.

Photographs of the children will be stylized and incorporated into whimsical illustrations. Children will be asked to wear a vintage wardrobe and will be directed to pose or do activities, such as run or fly a kite as the characters in the story.
