Production Description

Rafika Chawishe (acting coach) is seeking participants to learn a series of exercises. Acting coach states: "Increase your castability and earn parts; the ultimate goal is technique. The coaching focuses on spontaneous behavior and physicality as well as rigorous script analysis. The camera watches the body before it listens. I will be teaching you a series of exercises - a system that you can work by yourself to get empowered and successful in this industry. Build your stamina!

Rafika Chawishe is a stage & film director and an actress. She's now in preproduction of her first feature film. She started performing at a very young age in many highly regarded productions, portraying leading parts from the classical repertory. Ms. Chawishe is regarded by the critics as one of most promising new actresses, especially after playing Medea at the J. Gielgud Theatre and the Abbey Festival. Rafika Chawishe made her professional debut in 2006 with the National Theatre of Greece at the theatre of Epidavre, playing Cassandra in 'The Trojan Women.' Over the next few years, she performed in several of William Shakespeare's plays in roles such as Imogene in 'Cymbeline,' Juliet in 'Romeo and Juliet,' and Portia in 'The Merchant of Venice.' She performed at the Peter Brook Company as all of the daughters of all the plays of Shakespeare in an adaptation titled 'Fathers and Daughters in Shakespeare,' co-starring with Bruce Myers. In 2007 she directed and acted in a short film that was screened in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2008 she directed another short film that participated in the International Film Festival of Seoul and in the Palm Springs Festival. In 2009 the Hollywood Foreign Press Association invited her to make her debut appearance at the Golden Globe Awards as a newcomer.

She is exceedingly well-schooled in her profession with training from some of the most important and distinguished drama institutes in the world, including: The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Greece, and a second Bachelor Degree in classics and linguistics from the National University, School of Philosophy, Department of Classics and the Ph.d. Thesis in the Cambridge University."

Coaching takes place in W. Hollywood.
