Bonner & Co. Comedy Connection
Beverly Bonner

Production Description

Seeking participants for Beverly Bonner’s Boot Camp, a comedy workshop. Coordinator states: “Love sketch comedy yet don't think you're as prepared as you should be to make an audience hysterical with laughter? Are you having a hard time writing, editing, and making the right choices for your stand up routine? Join Comedy Boot Camp, where you will be given the time to work on your comedy with an experienced New York comedy actress, producer, director, and stand-up serious about comedy. Beverly will take sketches that either you bring or are assigned, and analyze, with minute attention to the details of what makes a sketch more than just funny, but comedy as an art form, i.e. comic timing, details, total presence as the character, etc. This collaboration will consist of three (3) weeks of intense training and development of comedy sketches with all participants, which will be followed by a show at a well known comedy club in front of a live audience. The 90-minute live show will be video-taped and shown the following week to discuss what went right and what could be improved.”

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Sessions will be held twice a week in midtown Manhattan beginning in August. Dates, times, and class length will depend on participants schedules and size of the class.
