Role Description

Detective Daniel "Bruiser" Broussard: (Supporting) to play mid-to-late 30s, above average height (5’10”+), stocky in build but not beefy; mad at the world and his readiness to use violence as a solution to any problem makes it apparent; from and still lives on the East Side; the son of a disgraced Austin cop, which has left him with disdain for a system he believes caters to the bureaucrat and the criminal, does not view himself as a dirty cop but as a cop giving the real world, real world justice; his claim to fame is being the arresting officer on both Alvie McDermott’s bank robbery conviction; has not had a significant arrest since then, which was five years ago; his star is fading fast and Al’s arrest and saving face for the city is the only chance he has for redemption, which means saving his career; his outlook on life is that the only time you should turn the other cheek is when somebody’s kissing your ass.
