Production Description

Casting "Dilemma," a short graduate student film for the School of Visual Arts. Synopsis: College student Emma Morales, pre-law major, witnesses a controversial “stop and frisk” on a night out when her boyfriend Luis is stopped without reason. Unfamiliar with the corrupt policy carried out by cops who racially profile and harass innocent citizens, Emma sets out to end this seemingly unconstitutional practice. Emma researches the legal precedent and collects data, then goes farther to collect her own evidence. She also tails and videotapes officers in action using excessive force and stopping suspicious people. In spite of failing to discredit the NYPD and immediately end the practice of stop and frisk, she sees one day in the future succeeding ending the policy as she returns to college to become a human rights attorney.
