Mercury Glass Theatre Company
Philip Waller, prod.-artistic dir.

Production Description

Casting "Edward II," the classic play by Christopher Marlowe for Mercury Glass Theatre Company's second season. Prod. states: "The play uses the tumultuous history of 14th century England to tell a more intimate tale of Edward II's rise and fall. Marlowe asks, when the allure of power is calling, which should guide us most: family, love, or political gain? He challenges us to consider whether such distinctions are even possible. I think we're up to the task. We seek to embrace the traditional edifying role of the arts by illuminating the world through present examination and cultivation of classical and contemporary creations in order to impact and influence its audience towards a more progressive and responsible future. In the first season, we backed up our cut down tear jerking 'Romeo and Juliet' with a tour de force ensemble production of 'Measure for Measure,' and now it's time to look to the future."
