Production Description

Casting "Einstein." Synopsis: "Einstein," a full-length play, deals with the turbulent life and times of the great scientist, spanning a period of fifty years. Major scenes include the initial rejection of his relativity paper by fellow scientists, his stormy relationship with his first wife Mileva, his hostility to quantum mechanics and the Big Bang Theory, the famous Einstein vs. Bohr debate on the nature of reality, Hitler's rant against Einstein, Einstein’s arrival in America, his role in the building of the atomic bomb, his persecution by the FBI and Edgar Hoover for his pacifistic beliefs, and his stoic death by refusing necessary surgery to save his life.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearsals begin approx. July 2 (mostly evenings and weekends); runs in Aug., Thu.-Sun. (four performances/wk., with Sunday matinees) at The Theatre at St. Clements in NYC.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Pays: $500 stipend provided (includes travel). Equity Basic Showcase Code.
