Stacy' Dad Side

(Caden is shooting hoops in the front yard)

Caden:
Whoa, that was close.

Caden:
Overtime!
(Stacy scurries out of the house with her portfolio in hand.)
Stacy
Huh?
(She tries the door again and again it fails to open.)
Stacy (continued)
No, no, nooooo!
Caden, what happened?!

Caden
Oh geez, I’m sorry, sis.
(He says sheepishly.)

Father:
What’s all this ruckus about.
(his newspaper is still in his hand.)

Stacy:
My keys are locked in the car.
(Stacy puts her arms out in frustration.)

Father:
Let me take a look.

Father:
Yep! Its locked.
(with a nod.)

Stacy:
Dad! I know its locked how can we get into it.

Dad:
Well you could use the spare.
(Stacy and Caden look at each other with a bit of guilt.)
Stacy:
Well, we could . . .
She lets the word out almost as if confessing a secret.
Caden:
But remember last month, when we went
swimming at the lake?
Their father thinks for a moment and looks proud of himself.
Dad:
Yes I remember. I caught a ten pound bass that time. It was marvelous!

Stacy:
Well the spare key’s at the bottom of that lake.

Dad:
Stacy!

Stacy:
I know! But hey, now I have one of those floating things on it.

Caden:
that’s doing a lot of good.
(he laughs)

Dad:
There is also the locksmith but he won’t be here for a few hours.

Stacy’s face turns to one large frown.

Dad
But there is one more option!
(Stacy’s face brighten with a smile.)

Dad (continued)
There’s always the van
(The father opens his arms towards the van that’s covered in signage: House Call Dog Grooming.)
Dad (continued)
We don’t have any appointments until the afternoon, so its all yours if you need it.
(shrugs her shoulders, and tells him)

Stacy
Ok.
