Production Description

Girl Be Heard is a non-profit theater company that brings global issues affecting girls center stage by empowering young women to tell their stories. Through writing and acting workshops, Girl Be Heard generates cutting-edge theater about what it means to be a girl in today's world. Seeking performers, songwriters, dancers, writers, and activists for its upcoming season: young women of all backgrounds, abilities, gender expressions, ethnicities, languages, races, sexual orientations, religions, and nationalities are strongly encouraged to audition.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Workshops take place on Sunday afternoons (2-5 p.m.) from September to May in NYC.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Participation in Girl Be Heard is free. Girl Be Heard is an equal opportunity employer of artists of diverse cultural backgrounds and abilities. Artistic director states: "We are a charity and our ensemble work is primarily workshop/development based." The producers are calling for union and nonunion actors but no union contract is currently planned.
