Role Description

Florence Foster Jenkins: was an American amateur operatic soprano who was known—and ridiculed—for her lack of rhythm, pitch, tone, her aberrant pronunciation, and her generally poor singing ability, often considered the worst singer ever, she was blissfully unaware of her limitations, and sang with great joy and abandon, had rabid fans, and even gave a sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall, an oversized personality who only sees the joy in life, she is boisterous, vibrant, relentlessly positive and over-the-top, behind the theatricality is a strong woman who believes in herself and in the power of faith; actress must be able to re-create Florence’s singing.
