Production Description

Golden Thread Productions is casting its 2013 season to include "444 Days" by Torange Yeghiazarian (Bella Warda, dir.), "Urge for Going" by Mona Mansour (Evren Odcikin, dir./literary artistic assoc.), and four staged readings for the New Threads Reading Series. Pays: $215 min./wk. Equity BAT Intro Agreement.

"444 Days"

Laila: female, 40s, Iranian, former revolutionary, now high up in the Iranian government, strong-minded. Henry: male, 50s, any ethnicity except Middle Eastern, American, handsome, charming, former government attaché. Olivia: female, 50s, African-American, nurse, no-nonsense, quick-witted. Hadyeh: female, 20s, Iranian.

"Urge for Going"

Jamila: female, 17 (both young and old for her age), Palestinian, smart, ambitious. Jul: male, 19, Palestinian, was a science genius, has difficulty talking and thinking since an accident. Adham: 60s, Palestinian man, intelligent, handsome, quiet, stubborn, has a hard time showing any emotion. Abir: female, 50s, Palestinian, warm, strong, the mother that keeps the family together. Ghassan: male, 60s, Palestinian, quiet, logical. Hamzi: male, 60s, Palestinian, a big, big man, garrulous.

New Threads Reading Series

Traffic: boy, 8, Afghan, a little business man, funny, can be violent, emotional. Avigdor: male, 60s, Israeli, construction mogul, a powerful man. Yona: female, 60s, Israeli, wife of a construction mogul, a powerful woman. Note: Series includes four staged readings.
