Role Description

Young Melissa: (Supporting) blonde, is often abused by her drunk father, longs for true love but her circumstances diminish that dream. In this scene, she is playing with dolls when her father returns home. This results in a cat and mouse chase until she is caught in the end. Young Melissa is a younger version of an older Melissa who provides companionship to older men for money. Her traumatic past is the reason for her inability to accept the idea of romance and love. Director states: "I have worked with child actors before and what I have done previously is that I do not give the actual content of the real script to the child. So, for example, in this case where there is an abusive father chasing his daughter, I would give the scenario that she has not done her homework and her father is trying to find her to take away her dolls. Prior to the shoot, all crew and cast will be informed of the 'second storyline' for the child's sake. I have no intent to cause harm or fear to the child in any way."
