About Emerging Comics

Emerging Comics has helped over 1000 performers start standup comedy in Los Angeles in the last 4 years - not only is it the only showcase in Hollywood that provides free 1 on 1 comedy coaching to all its performers but it is last legitimate standup industry showcase with agents, casting directors, producers, and managers coming down each week - scouting talent and meeting them after the show for Q&As.

About the Instructor

Producer and Headliner Matt Taylor has taught over 1000 performers how to successfully begin their stand up comedy careers. Comedy is very difficult if you do not have anyone to show you the way - where do you start? what do you talk about? how do you make something "funny" - its overwhelming! Emerging Comics will remove all the confusion and simplify comedy for you - learn the one method that applies to both stories and jokes - to standup and film work - to improvised scenes and networking at cocktail parties. We will show you exactly why people laugh (Surprise that relieves pain) How to create surprise (Identification & Expection) and teach you a series of exercises we developed to bring being funny from something that "happened" to something you create upon command.
