Production Description

Casting "Interpreting Her Martyr'd Signs." Producers state: "For Love & Duty Players will be presenting their inaugural production at the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity this May/June. This production is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s "Titus Andronicus" called ‘Interpreting Her Martyr’d Signs.' This is a devised, movement, and classical text based piece which focuses on Lavinia and Tamora’s view of the events in ‘Titus.' We are interested in the cycle of violence, what happens when another culture treats another so violently, and in this world of violence and ruthlessness, is their any room of hope? This is an amazing chance to be seen by the industry and to be part of NYC’s only eco-friendly, green, and socially conscience theatre festival. We are proud to be making our debut here. Such playwrights as John Patrick Shanley and Neil LaBute have contributed to this festival."
