Casting "Lost Letter,' a play written by W.G. Allen in which the U. S. government has found an 18 year-old letter written to a resident of Oxbow, OK in the fall of 1935. President FDR decides to deliver the letter on a live radio broadcast, hoping this will provide a "shot of hope" to counter the seemingly endless rigors of The Depression and The Dust Bowl. When the government official assigned to arrange the broadcast arrives in Oxbow, what he discovers threatens to turn a great human interest story into a disaster for everyone concerned.
