Production Description

Seeking participants for "Marking for Actors Workshop - Find an Agent." Owner states: "Pilot season is over and now is the time to start looking for a talent agent. They are going through their client lists and are deciding who to keep and who to drop. So, there are spots opening in everyone’s client lists! This fall, there will be more television shows filming in NY than ever before! You don’t want to miss out on all those opportunities. This seminar is going to fill up fast...so get your seat today. One lucky attendee will get a free one hour one-on-one consultation!"

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Workshop will be held Aug. 2 (10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) in NYC. Note: Exact location will be given after registration, a week before the event.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

No Pay. Cost is $35 fee ($5 discount for SAG-AFTRA and/or AEA members or $5 discount for students).

1st hour – Getting Representation

- Steps to take to land Representation and get those higher profile and higher paying jobs
- How to keep your Representation
- Get on the radar of NY’s Casting Directors
- Headshots and Resumes to make you more marketable

2nd hour – Marketing Materials to Help You Get More Work & Representation

- How to properly market yourself as a business (Yes, you are your own business!)
- Learn how to follow up with Talent Agents and Casting directors to keep you on their minds
- Create business cards to use at networking events
- Easily develop a website to showcase your talent and get more work
- Develop a demo reel you can be proud of!

15 minute intermission to digest what you've learned so far

3rd hour – FINDING WORK and joining the actor’s union

- Finding Casting Notices
- Drafting a response to casting notices
- How to join the actor’s union, SAG-AFTRA
- When is the right time to join the union

4th hour –Networking, Training and Technology

- Use background acting to start your networking
- How can you successfully network your business
- Where can you go to meet people who may help your business
- How do you use technology to your benefit
- Find the right training to get you more work

Final 15 minutes
