Production Description

Casting Shakespeare's classic comedy "Much Ado About Nothing. The battle of the sexes is alive and well when a group of victorious soldiers arrive at the home of nobleman Leonato for some much needed rest and relaxation. A young soldier, Claudio falls in love with Hero, Leonato’s daughter, while his friend Benedick, a sworn hater of love and marriage spars with Hero’s cousin Beatrice, who has also sworn to never marry. As their battle of wits intensifies, their friends scheme to make the two fall in love with each other, with unexpected and hilarious consequences.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearsals begin Jan. 11 (read-through, noon- 3 p.m.) and continue Sun.-Thurs. (7-10:30 p.m.) throughout January and February; runs Mar. 1-29, 2014 at the Long Beach Playhouse.
