Corinne Miller, education dir.

Production Description

Seeking participants to join Barrington Stage Company 20th anniversary summer season. Education Director states: "Each year, BSC selects five Musical Theatre Apprentices (MTAs) to work with top-level New York directors, choreographers, and composers and perform at the award-winning professional theater in the cultural capital of the Berkshires, just hours outside of New York and Boston. For the 2014 season, MTAs will perform in Barrington Stage Company’s Mainstage Equity production of Kiss Me, Kate, with Emmy Award-winning choreographer, Josh Bergasse (TV's 'Smash') and headline their own cabaret performances including an evening of original musical shorts curated by famed composer William Finn ('Falsettos,' 'The 25th Annual Putnam Country Spelling Bee'). MTAs also have the opportunity to earn equity points, take Master Classes led by industry leaders and attend weekly workshops covering a wide variety of theater-related subjects. Previous Master Class instructors have included entertainment legends such as Christopher Innvar (Floyd Collins, Porgy and Bess), Marin Mazzie (Ragtime, Next to Normal), Jason Danieley (Candide, Curtains) and Debra Jo Rupp (That 70’s Show, Becoming Dr. Ruth)."
