Role Description

Nils Krogstad: (Supporting) a man at the end of his rope, a social pariah who’s only recently begun to earn back respectability. A contemporary of Torvald. At the beginning of the play he finds himself at risk of losing everything he’s worked for, and so he resorts to blackmail. He’s not a villain, just desperate and driven to do something distasteful to him. One might find him sympathetic, though he wears his desperation like an old coat.
