Production Description

Casting "Now Was When," a student thesis film for New York Film Academy. How old is too old to start your life? This short film is a comedic exploration of life’s struggles on the everlasting path of the pursuit of happiness and the length we will go through to obtain it. This short film tells the story of Martha, a 60 year old woman that wants to become pregnant. She’s having a hard time dealing with growing old wants more than anything to start her life, preserve her youth and ensure herself company for the rest of her days. Everyone around her has children and grandchildren and her only regret in life is to have put off having a family, decision that has left her all alone with the exception of her close friends Edith and Viola. As it is expected, not everyone will coincide with her point of view as she will try to go trough a controversial medical procedure. To her friends, Martha’s actions seem desperate and selfish for a woman of her age."



Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearses first week of April in Burbank and L.A.; shoots April 21-25 in So Cal.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Travel and meals provided. Deferred payment of $100 per/day.
