Austin Prario (dir.)

Production Description

Casting for a New York Univeristy Directing the Actor Class exercise. Director states: "This is an exercise where each student takes a scene from a movie (I chose "Being John Malkovich" and adds his/her own touch/take to it. We prepare and rehearse with the actors over several weeks to create a final scene. In my scene Craig is being interviewed by Lester for a position as a filer at LesterCorp. Craig needs this job to support his wife and his passion for making and performing marionettes. Lester wants to find a good quality candidate to be the LesterCorp filer. A very funny scene. This is an exercise to develop the working relationship and communication skills between the actors and the director. The ultimate goal of this exercise is to create a mock scene where the performances are as true, heartfelt, and believable as possible. It will not be filmed in class."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

One required class rehearsal and performance either on March 6, 13, or 27 depending on assigned day; second session is April 3. Note: All sessions will be held on Thurs., 2-4:45 p.m. We are also required to rehearse on our own times, so we can figure out a day and time that works best for us.
