Role Description

Angel of the Lord: (Supporting) with a commanding singing voice and who can preach. The Angel of the Lord is a timeless character who starts the play with the Angel of the Lord Trainee and explains that they are there to "help a family--the Wilson's." He assists this modern family by appearing in the current time as well as in the ancient setting- -the play within the play--as the Angel that gives an invitation to a young Jewish girl, Mary, and then announces "Glory" over some hills in the Middle East to a group of young shepherds. At that point he is joined by his fellow hip hop angel dancers and angel singing chorus. He breaks out into preaching and the whole group sings, "Glory." He is both a commanding presence and an endearing encourager.
