Open Hydrant Theater Company @ The Point CDC.
Luis Reyes Cardenas & Sarah Rosenberg, Co-Artistic Directors.

Production Description

Currently seeking creative artists interested in joining and helping create a new professional, not-for-profit theater company. Artistic Directors state: “We are looking for Actors, Writers, Directors, Technical Crew, and anyone looking to build a professional theater group in our very own community. Open Hydrant will foster young budding playwrights, produce a full season of original plays and musicals and will begin a community outreach program by creating musicals to introduce the joy of Shakespeare to children. Our work and students can currently be seen in the feature documentary called, ‘Shakespeare High,’ executive produced by Kevin Spacey and ‘The We and the I,’ directed by Michel Gondry.”

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

The company will meet three times a week for meetings and rehearsals. Each season will consist of one original musical in November, one original play in April, a short play festival in October and a family friendly re-imagining of a Shakespeare play throughout the season. Rehearsals and performances will be held at The Point CDC, 940 Garrison Ave., Bronx, NY.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

There is no pay for non-union. Union members will be paid the Equity minimum based on the contract.
