Production Description

Seeking members for Open Hydrant Theater Company @ The Point, an ensemble-based, equity theater company in the densely populated, yet under-served, community of the south Bronx. Personnel states: "Our purpose is to produce yearly seasons of creative works based largely on, but not limited to, non-traditional interpretations of Shakespeare's plays, as well as work by new playwrights and underdog classics. We are committed to empowering a diverse group of creative artists, especially the youth, whose work is designed to educate, entertain and help revitalize urban communities. Our most recent ensemble collaborative work includes "Shakespeare High," executive produced by Kevin Spacey and "The We and the I" directed by Michel Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"). We are currently expanding our group and starting new units of the company. We are seeking actors, filmmakers, sketch comedy artists, children/young adults and writers (screen/stage) who want to join us on this historic journey."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Meets Wed. nights at the Point; the Early Stages Unit meets Sat. afternoons in NY. Note: Additional rehearsals are scheduled for each specific project.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Personnel states: "There is no fee. There will be no pay for non-union artists. Union performers will receive a stipend for transportation during rehearsals and performances."
