Production Description

Casting an NYU short, "Pour l'amour de Dieu," which follows two seemingly unrelated events in the life of Aimée, a young independent woman who is bored with her current boyfriend, René, but not quite bored enough to break it off. After she rejects René's unexpected marriage proposal, she leaves his apartment not knowing where to go. She bumps into Jacques and, after getting to know him thinks that she might give him a shot at making her happy. The same events are told through four separate perspectives: Aimée, René, Jacques, and the homeless man who happens to see most of it unfold. Each consecutive perspective provides a twist on the previous character's interpretation of the events, ending with the homeless man, who underlines the theme of the film—that fate and chance, while being polar opposites, appear exactly the same on the surface—in an oddly poetic way. The film will be silent and black & white.
