Production Description

Casting The Prague Shakespeare Company's 2013-14 season. Season includes "The Duchess of Malfi," "Venus in Fur," "Cymbeline," "The Winter’s Tale," "A Midsummer Night’s Dream," "The School for Lies," "Amerika," a world premiere based on Kafka’s unfinished novel, "My Country of a Deaf Composer," a world premiere, and "Julius Caesar." Season also includes "Henry V" (a co-production with Main Street Theater Company – Houston Texas) and "Santaland Diaries," which have already been cast. All productions are performed in English. Artistic Director's statement: "All actors, directors, designers, musicians and stage managers who work with PSC are members of the PSC seasonal artistic company. The seasonal artistic company, under the guidance of the Artistic Director, work constantly together to explore a cohesive classical style. PSC provides an ensemble atmosphere for extended theatrical exploration wherein company members work as a group to develop skills and to perfect their craft through the continuity of several productions and ongoing training workshops. The quality of commitment demanded of the company members fosters a cohesiveness and intensity of approach to PSC’s classical repertoire."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Season runs Aug. 24, 2013-June 29, 2014 at PSC’s 100-seat flexible studio space Divadlo Kolowrat in the Kolowratský palace in Prague, Czech Republic.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Pays $250-$600/wk. (equivalent in Czech Crowns), travel and housing provided. No per diem. All rehearsals and performance are in the Czech Republic and not under any US/Britain union contracts. All out-of-town artists are provided with round trip coach travel to/from Prague, and housing.
