Production Description

Casting "Private Space," a student film for Columbia University. Synopsis: Dot goes to confession. The sin is bad. She imagined killing her roommate. She has lived the quiet life for years. Reading her bible, working from home, keeping people at a safe distance. But all that changed when she saw Rebecca (the roommate) naked. The lust genie is out of the bottle. Dot helps Rebecca to better herself (she doesn't know how to do hand laundry, or keep a job, or pretty much anything practical) while she seethes with desire for her as well as jealously over Rebecca’s boyfriend. As Dot’s trying to pray she hears the couple loudly fornicating behind the curtain that separates their room. So she does what any reasonable person would do and sets fire to it. Now there’s no walls between Dot and Rebecca. Only when Rebecca’s boyfriend dumps her and she comes to Dot for comfort does the little virgin feel ready to try and kiss her. Rebecca says no. So then Dot has a little fantasy about stabbing her in the neck with a scissors. But hey, having roommates is never easy.
