Production Description

IN Studios is now accepting applications for their sketch comedy conservatory program (think "Saturday Night Live" or "In Living Color"). Producer states: "Offering expert training in improvisation to sketch, sketch writing and sketch acting, students work closely with Master Director, Scotty Watson ('The Second City', 'Late Night with David Letterman'), as well as other professional comedy coaches from around NYC."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Training and performances are ongoing beginning Spring 2014 in NYC.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Eventual pay for some participants. The audition is for a scholarship for discounted classes. Perks for selected team members include free and discounted classes and regular performance opportunities.

How It Works

Successful applicants are invited to attend the IN Studios Comedy Conservatory and receive 6-8 months of discounted improvisation and sketch classes, one-on-one career coaching, and regular performance opportunities.

Six to twelve IN Studios Conservatory members are chosen for the IN Team: Selection includes free improvisation and sketch classes and performances each week on a NYC stage, crafting a new improvisation & sketch show every month, building actor/writer credits by working with top comedy directors and instructors.

IN Team alumni go on to star in our online videos, teach for us, book private and corporate gigs and land an agent.

Successful applicants will receive a 6-8 month scholarship (which includes classes at a significantly reduced rate, one-on-one career coaching, and regular performance opportunities). After completion of the program, some Conservatory members will be chosen for the IN Team, receiving FREE improvisation and sketch classes, performing every week on a NYC stage and crafting an all-original, new show every month! Paid opportunities are available for alumni IN Team members, who are featured in online videos, work as instructors, perform at private and corporate gigs, and participate in industry showcases
