Production Description

Casting new members for an improvisational theater and sketch comedy troupe (think "Saturday Night Live" or "In Living Color") offering customized instruction and industry exposure. Producer states: "After auditioning, selected performers will be accepted in the company's comedy conservatory and receive six months of improv and sketch classes at a significantly reduced rate, one-on-one career coaching, and regular performance opportunities. Six to twelve conservatory members are chosen for the team; all classes are free for selected team members. Team members perform every week on a NYC stage, craft a new sketch comedy show and improv set every month, and build their resumes while working with comedy directors and instructors. Alumni team members are featured in online videos, work as instructors, work at private and corporate gigs, and may find representation. A current conservatory member states: 'Meeting the founder of The Groundlings was amazing. I had no idea that I would find such great friends, professional connections, and opportunities through this group.'"
