Seasons

Synopsis

Through song alone, we follow two couples as they face life and deal with challenges, big and small, that everyone, on some level can relate with. We watch as the decisions they make change the course of their lives forever, and witness how the characters are affected by each and every passing month during the course of one full year. As the seasons change, we meet Peter and Helen, both 23, who are reconnected at their 5 year class reunion. After three too-many drinks, they end up in Peter’s hotel room for what they both view as a one night stand. Helen is shocked afterwards to learn that she is pregnant and has to put her dreams of medical school on hold while she and Peter get married and try to make a life together. Peter is desperate to build a family with Helen, and create a home for their child, but as almost strangers, he ends up doing most of the emotional heavy lifting. Hope, 26, and her mother, Mrs. Jones, 50, are the other pair we follow in "Seasons." Hope has just gotten engaged, and while she never thought she’d be the kind of girl to be married, she couldn’t be more excited about spending her life with Josh, her fiancé. Hope works hard in advertising and cherishes the time she has with her busy mother, Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Jones works as a nurse in the ER and is shocked to learn that she has stage four breast cancer. Keeping herself as busy as possible, to ignore the feeling that she could have done more with her life, Mrs. Jones processes this prognosis. Hoping for the best outcome, she tells her daughter that she will fight and beat her illness. It is during the wedding planning that we realize it is a losing battle and the mother and daughter must find a way to say their goodbyes. "Seasons" is a story about the many facets, layers, and forms love can take in an individual's life, and reinforces the belief that every moment spent with the ones you love is a gift.
