Production Description

Casting "Sing After Storms." Synopsis: Dr. Jack Young and his team are nominated for the Nobel Prize for his groundbreaking, unconventional work to remove the stigma around mental illness. As the announcement is made public, legal allegations threaten to undermine his success in every facet of his life. Desperate to hold together his career, marriage, and family, Jack attempts to halt the unraveling of the reputation he has worked so hard to build by taking on one last patient.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Staged reading will be held late March-early April. Rehearsals run mid-May through mid June (Mon.-Thu. evenings), with a full-day tech rehearsal June 18; runs June 18 at 8:45 p.m., June 21 at 9 p.m. and June 22 at 9:30 p.m. at the Cabrini Repertory Theater in Washington Heights as part of the New York City Thespis Theater Festival.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Producer states: "Though the roles are not paid, all actors will be featured on our social media channels and the website. All actors will be given a set of comp tickets to use any way they'd like. Also, all cast members will be eligible for awards given by the Thespis Theater Festival--$500 for best actor and $500 for best actress. We have had a number of off-Broadway houses and independent film companies express interest in the show. They will be invited to the run and our goal is to give this show a long, healthy life after this run at Thespis."
