Video Instructions

Video Instructions

You should only use the video camera on your computer, without moving the camera during the video. All videos should be HD. Our preferred program is Quicktime – record at the highest possible resolution. Please don't wear clothing with any brands or logos on it. If you have a laptop, be creative about where you film - it doesn't have to be in your office. Try for the best light so you look good. If you can, have a friend or family member read these next steps to you as you’re recording.

1) Hold up a piece of paper with your name & email address. This is just to make sure that we can contact you if we want to use your video. Don’t worry if it looks backwards on screen.

2) One after another, make the following expressions, leaving a little space between each one. No talking. Look directly into the camera itself, not the recording on screen. In general, try not to over-act, a little bit of expression goes a long way in a close-up shot.
A) A blank neutral expression
B) A slow smile, as if you are seeing something on your screen that makes you feel very warm and happy
C) A look of disgust
D) A wave and a smile
E) A look of surprise
F) A look of shock
G) Hold something up (you can pick the object - a baseball a picture, etc) as if you are showing it to a friend.
H) Wild card! you decide - a goofy expression, a magic trick, breakdancing...talking and/or singing is OK in this one. You can also do a wider shot if you want.
