Production Description

Casting "Subterfuge," a short film in the style of modern film noir. Synopsis: A desperate grifter assumes the identity of a long lost nephew to steal a large sum of money from a farm. After forming an uneasy partnership with his “aunt”, the “nephew” discovers that the "aunt" is also a con artist trying to find the hidden cash herself...

About the Production Team

"Subterfuge" is written and directed by Bryan W. Simon, a critically acclaimed, award-winning director,who recently directed the film translation of the Tony Award winning Broadway Show, "Jay Johnson: The Two and Only" and "I'm No Dummy,",a comedy documentary, which was the hit of the Seattle Film Festival and was picked up by Salient Media and NBC/Universal. Both projects were produced with his partner, Marjorie A. Engesser. Joining their team is the Emmy nominated producer Christopher Lockhart who is the Story Editor at the world’s largest talent agency, William Morris Endeavor. He co-produced "The Collector" and its sequel "The Collection" and produced and wrote the documentary "Most Valuable Players" winning several awards including the “Documentary Channel Audience Award”. It was acquired by Oprah Winfrey for her “Documentary Club” and debuted on OWN in 2011.
