Three Act Theatre Company
Andrew David Sotomayor, musical dir.; Eric Mark Olson, artistic dir.

Production Description

Seeking two casts of 20 teens (ages 12-18) to participate in Three Act Theatre Company's Summer Immersion Program (SIP) and perform with the company in a workshop production of an untitled new musical. Company states: "SIP is a three-week, 15-session (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) theater training program that is an immersion into a professional summer workshop production of Three Act Theatre Company. By audition only, a select cast of students will receive 'triple threat training,' designed to offer technique training that will prepare them for musical theater auditions and performances in their future, allowing them the room to reach their own individual next level of mastery. Within each discipline, attention will be paid to the development of character and acting choices that are living inside of the music and words. This 'by audition only' program offers the unique opportunity to train side by side with adult company members and then perform with them in the premiere workshop production of a brand new musical which will eventually appear in our 2015 season as a fully produced show. During the first week of the immersion program, students will have an opportunity to learn from and write along side Three Act Theatre’s writers in residence, while building performance skills in singing, acting, and dancing technique. In weeks two and three, students will stage and rehearse an original musical. This production will incorporate several adult company members/instructors, so students will be working side by side on stage with professionals! There will be two public performances on Friday, July 25th. Family and friends will be invited to attend, along with industry professionals. Note: Special consideration for casting in the full length show will be given to student performers who were a part of the original company to help develop the work at camp in July 2014."

Program runs 15 sessions/rehearsals July 7-25 (Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.) in Midtown NYC. Final workshop production performs July 25 at 4 p.m. & 7 p.m.
