Technical Director / Facility Manager - Part Time

By combining both theatrical and technical skills with maintenance abilities, the part-time technical director/facility manager will assist in the day-to-day operation and technical aspects of a three theatre facility. This includes helping to maintain equipment and working closely with producers and directors to serve all in-house special events and shows as part of a demanding season of political theatre performances – both adult and youth theatre, from avant-garde to comedy improv to hip-hop shows. Additionally, the position assists in the maintenance of facility systems throughout the 31,000 square-foot center. The Technical Director/Facility Manager will report to the Vice President for Theatre and Senior Vice President of Human Resource/Finance.

Candidate is theatre professional with experience troubleshooting technical equipment. Must possess strong communications skills and work well with other staff members. Must have ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Strong hands-on set construction and rigging skills a plus, as is experience with special events. Proven ability in maintaining high standards of safety and quality is required. Mac experience necessary; facility with Vectorworks is a plus. Ideal candidate is interested in the mission of the Castillo Theatre and the All Stars Project, promoting human development for all people, particularly inner-city youth, through creating performance on and off stage.
