Production Description

Casting Tennessee Shakespeare Company's upcoming 2014-15 season. Season includes: "Richard III" (Dave Demke, dir.; rehearses and runs Oct. 6-Nov. 1); "Twelfth Night" (rehearses and runs Nov. 10-Dec. 21); and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (rehearses and runs May 4-June 21, 2015).

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Season rehearses and runs in Germantown, TN.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Pays: $462/wk. min. Equity SPT Tier 7 contract.

Male, early 30s. Young, Machevellian Richard III; a tremendous leader who gives no quarter.



King Edward/Duchess of York/ensemble:

Female, 60s+. Can play the male King and Richard's formidable mother.

Viola:

Female or Male, late 20s-early 40s. The elegant, beautiful Countess in abject mourning and longing.

Toby Belch:
Male, late 40s-early 60s. An oft-drunken, good-natured carouser and social singer.



Andrew Aguecheek:

Male, late 30s-50s. Lean, wealthy, royal fop and friend to Toby. Kind and self-aware.



Malvolio:

Male, 50s. Olivia's pious, organized steward who is a closet cross-dresser.



Feste:

Male, late 20s-50s. Excellent singer and entertainer; Olivia's jester.

Titania/Hippolyta:

Female, 30s-60s. Amazon Queen and Fairie Queen. Athletic, can move/dance, a force of nature.

Lysander:

Male, 20s-early 30s. Athletic, love-sick poet.



Hermia: 

Female, 20s-early 30s. Gymnastic, defiant, comedian in love. 



Egeus/Snug:

Male, 40s-60s. Doubles as ferocious father of Hermia and a cowardly lion as a tradesman in the Interlude.



Puck/Philostrate:

Male, 20s-30s. Doubles as officious secretary to Theseus and gymnastic wanderer of the night to Oberon. Can sing and move well.



Peter Quince:

Male or Female, late 40s-70s. Trying very hard to produce and direct his/her first self-written script for high-ranking officials.



Nick Bottom:

Male, late 30s-50s. A self-involved, amateur thespian who is turned into a donkey, loved by Titania, and then descants on the meaning of life by the light of day. Tradesman.



Francis Flute:

Male, 20s. A first-time actor made to play the female lover to Bottom in the Interlude. Tradesman.



Tom Snout:

Male, 20s-40s. A first-time actor in the Interlude who is physically large and can play a Wall. Tradesman.



Robin Starveling:

Male, 20s-50s. A first-time actor in the Interlude who is a fastidious tailor by day. Tradesman.
