Stage Pell-Mell
Julienne Jones, prod./casting dir.

Production Description

Casting a 10-minute play, "The American Dream," as part of an original works festival, "Stage Pell-Mell: The Grey Matter of Wandering Minds and the Plight of Lost Souls {or} Mumbo Jumbo: A Show in Dumbo." Producer states: "This is a non-profit show dedicated to providing a venue for emerging artists and a space for artists to meet. The show is an hour of original works, a raffle, and an hour of live music and drinks from the bar. 'The American Dream' explores the world of three little girls, played by adults, through their mothers' hands. Each girl is affected by her own form of repression or societal stereotyping, but as little girls they each hold onto their own innocence and naivete. The play ends with an interweaving of monologue/spoken word in which the girls' adult selves emerge and the struggles of their individual situations are released."
