Production Description

Casting “The Blue Lenses,” a three-channel narrative short following two characters in NYC. The male is a bit of a con artist, and we follow his story over a period of 10 years. The female is charismatic and broke.

Producer states: “Sue de Beer, the director of the film, exhibits her work primarily in a Gallery or Museum settings. She has had solo shows at major institutions internationally such as the Whitney Museum in New York, the Kunst Werke in Berlin, the Muhka Museum in Antwerp, and LACE in LA. She has also shown at the Reina Sofia, PS1/MOMA, the New Museum, the Busan MOMA in Korea, the Neu Galerie am Landes Museum in Austria, and many others. Her work has been included in the Whitney Biennial. Her films are in the permanent collections of MOMA, the Whitney, the Deste Foundation in Greece, the Goetz Collection. She often shoots a combination of actors and non-actors - what she does isn't really traditional film - although if it would link to a filmmaking history it would be something like Fassbinder or Paul Morrissey.”

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Shoots 8 days mid-July on the West Side of Manhattan.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

The two leads will receive a small stipend. All other roles are unpaid.
