Production Description

Casting "The Clay of Indigo," a short film. Synopsis: "In southern China, an ancient town is famous for traditional ceramics. Xiang Yang inherits the ancestral art of making Zisha teapots and lives with his ill grandmother. Xiang Yang never considered leaving his small town, but an accidental meeting with Marco, an American, changes his life. Marco is a journalist who comes to China to shoot a series of photos about the traditional Chinese art of ceramics. While shooting, they get to know each other and Xiang Yang starts to develop special feelings for Marco. However, Xiang Yang’s grandma passes away suddenly, and he is experiencing the grief of losing a loved one while dealing with the strange looks others are giving him in town. In the end, destiny pushes him into the biggest turning point in his life."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Shoots early-Oct. 2014 for one week in Yixing & Chengdu, China.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Pays: $200/day. Round-trip airplane tickets provided; meal, living, and accommodations included, along with two extra travel and visiting days. Producer plans to apply for SAG-AFTRA Student Film agreement.
